ਬਿਹਾਗੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਛੰਤ ॥
बिहागड़ा महला ५ छंत ॥
Bihaagraa, Fifth Mehl, Chhant:

ਸੁਨਹੁ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
सुनहु बेनंतीआ सुआमी मेरे राम ॥
Listen to my prayer, O my Master Ram.

ਕੋਟਿ ਅਪ੍ਰਾਧ ਭਰੇ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
कोटि अप्राध भरे भी तेरे चेरे राम ॥
I am filled with millions of sins, but still O Ram, I am Your slave.

ਦੁਖ ਹਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਨ ਮੋਹਨ ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸਹ ਭੰਜਨਾ ॥
दुख हरन किरपा करन मोहन कलि कलेसह भंजना ॥
O Destroyer of pain, Bestower of Mercy, O Mohan, Destroyer of sorrow and strife,

ਸਰਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਰਬ ਮੈ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਾ ॥
सरनि तेरी रखि लेहु मेरी सरब मै निरंजना ॥
I have come to Your Sanctuary; please preserve my honor. You are all-pervading, O Niranjan.

ਸੁਨਤ ਪੇਖਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰਹੂ ਤੇ ਨੇਰੇ ॥
सुनत पेखत संगि सभ कै प्रभ नेरहू ते नेरे ॥
He hears and beholds all; Lord is with us, the nearest of the near.

ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਘਰ ਕੇ ਚੇਰੇ ॥੧॥
अरदासि नानक सुनि सुआमी रखि लेहु घर के चेरे ॥१॥
O Master, hear Nanak's prayer; please save the servants of Your household. ||1||

ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਦਾ ਹਮ ਦੀਨ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
तू समरथु सदा हम दीन भेखारी राम ॥
You are eternal and all-powerful; I am a mere beggar, O Ram.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਗਨੁ ਕਢਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
माइआ मोहि मगनु कढि लेहु मुरारी राम ॥
I am intoxicated with the love of Maya - save me, O Murari, O Ram!

ਲੋਭਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰਿ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਅਨਿਕ ਦੋਖ ਕਮਾਵਨੇ ॥
लोभि मोहि बिकारि बाधिओ अनिक दोख कमावने ॥
Bound down by greed, emotional attachment and corruption, I have made so many mistakes.

ਅਲਿਪਤ ਬੰਧਨ ਰਹਤ ਕਰਤਾ ਕੀਆ ਅਪਨਾ ਪਾਵਨੇ ॥
अलिपत बंधन रहत करता कीआ अपना पावने ॥
The creator is both attached and detached from entanglements; one obtains the fruits of his own actions.

ਕਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੇ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
करि अनुग्रहु पतित पावन बहु जोनि भ्रमते हारी ॥
Show kindness to me, O Patit-Pavan (Purifier of sinners); I am so tired of wandering through reincarnation.

ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
बिनवंति नानक दासु हरि का प्रभ जीअ प्रान अधारी ॥२॥
Prays Nanak, I am the slave of Hri; Lord is the Support of my soul, and my breath of life. ||2||

ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਵਡਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਥੋਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
तू समरथु वडा मेरी मति थोरी राम ॥
You are great and all-powerful; my understanding is so inadequate, O Ram.

ਪਾਲਹਿ ਅਕਿਰਤਘਨਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
पालहि अकिरतघना पूरन द्रिसटि तेरी राम ॥
You cherish even the ungrateful ones; Your Glance of Grace is perfect, O Ram.

ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਅਪਾਰ ਕਰਤੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਨੀਚੁ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
अगाधि बोधि अपार करते मोहि नीचु कछू न जाना ॥
Your wisdom is unfathomable, O Infinite Creator. I am lowly, and I know nothing.

ਰਤਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਨ ਕਉਡੀ ਪਸੂ ਨੀਚੁ ਇਆਨਾ ॥
रतनु तिआगि संग्रहन कउडी पसू नीचु इआना ॥
Forsaking the jewel, I have saved the shell; I am a lowly, ignorant beast.

ਤਿਆਗਿ ਚਲਤੀ ਮਹਾ ਚੰਚਲਿ ਦੋਖ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਜੋਰੀ ॥
तिआगि चलती महा चंचलि दोख करि करि जोरी ॥
I have kept that which forsakes me, and is very fickle, continually committing sins, again and again.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਮੋਰੀ ॥੩॥
नानक सरनि समरथ सुआमी पैज राखहु मोरी ॥३॥
Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary, Almighty Lord and Master; please, preserve my honor. ||3||

ਜਾ ਤੇ ਵੀਛੁੜਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
जा ते वीछुड़िआ तिनि आपि मिलाइआ राम ॥
I was separated from Him, and now, Ram has united me with Himself.

ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਮੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
साधू संगमे हरि गुण गाइआ राम ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I sing the Glorious Praises of Hri, O Ram.

ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਸਦਾ ਨੀਕੇ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਮੈ ਪਰਗਟ ਭਏ ॥
गुण गाइ गोविद सदा नीके कलिआण मै परगट भए ॥
Singing the Praises of Govind, the ever-sublime blissful Lord is revealed to me.

ਸੇਜਾ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਿ ਲਏ ॥
सेजा सुहावी संगि प्रभ कै आपणे प्रभ करि लए ॥
My bed is adorned in the association of Lord; my Lord has made me His own.

ਛੋਡਿ ਚਿੰਤ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਹੋਏ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
छोडि चिंत अचिंत होए बहुड़ि दूखु न पाइआ ॥
Abandoning anxiety, I have become carefree, and I shall not suffer in pain any longer.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੫॥੮॥
नानक दरसनु पेखि जीवे गोविंद गुण निधि गाइआ ॥४॥५॥८॥
Nanak lives by beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, singing the Glorious Praises of Govind, the ocean of excellence. ||4||5||8||
